My Hobbies & Interests

• Well as you will probably know by now my name is Dan and I'm a graphic and web designer. I have a few hobbies that I like to do when I can, in between designing & developing the web. I like to get out and about after I've been stuck in an office staring at a screen most of the day, so I often go out with my girlfriend on National Trust visits / walks to see the sites and the country's history.

  History is something that has always interested me, I love to read or hear stories about different times in history. I have particularly been interested in World War 2 and even have my own collection from medals to receiver radios! - My girlfriend calls me a geek, she says it's a good thing?!

• Other things I like to do are playing squash to keep fit (friends tell me I'm really competitive, I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing?!), playing Airsoft, Guitar and online gaming.

  I like to keep up to date with what's going on in the online world. The progression of the web is something that really interests me, how fast things can grow and change is quite incredible. I don't see how anyone could ever get bored of this profession as it's always changing all the time around you.

My Background

• My Past

  At an early age my family and I moved to Dubai where I spent most of my younger years. I was never the academic at school and spent most of my days daydreaming rather than working, in my spare time I would come home and spend most of my time on the computer.

  I then moved back to the UK and after passing an IT Course at Wakefield College, I applied to work as an IT Engineer with BT (British Telecom). I was offered the job and worked there for 3 good years, before I decided to return to education to commit to the subject I had enjoyed for many years - Web & Graphic design and I proved to be an academic after all.

• My Present

  I then went on to complete a HND at FdA Web Design (I'd recommend this course for anyone interested in web design). I am now a freelance web designer and have been building sites for small businesses and individuals. If you are looking for a web designer to build you a website, please don't hesitate to contact me.
